Airline Transport Pilot Licence ATPL

There are various training programs available for the Airline Transport Pilot Licence ATPL, which is your ticket for a seat in a cockpit as a commercial pilot.

During internet research anybody can find several terms like ATPL ab-initio, integrated ATPL or ATPL modular.

The modular based training concept is - similar to the common integrated ATPL program - a continuous training program from the very beginning in which each training module will be finished with an independent licence. The advantage of this concept is that you will not sign an binding contract for a entire training course as this happens in an ab-initio based training.

Furthermore you can rent an aircraft by your own and do your timebuilding independently from (e.g. flying in USA, or at your flying club)

For the ATPL-Training programm there are following requirements:
  • minimum age: 18 years
  • Medical Class 1 (see MEDICAL)
  • academic readiness
    • entry exam in mathematics and physics
    • technical background recommended
  • solid English language
  • flawless reputation

Any pilot career starts with the Private Pilot Licence PPL(A) and the visual night flight certification NIT(A) in which the basics of flying will be learned in 50h flight time.

After successfully passing the PPL(A) Licence you will do your timebuilding of additional 50h for IR(A) and 150h total time for CPL(A). Based on the modular training concept the timebuilding can be done independently or within ATO -
Parallel to the timebuilding you can already start with the ATPL-Theory course!
This ATPL ab PPL training course will be hold in our classroom and via eLearning (Distance Training) and will be completed with the entire ATPL-Theory exam. The passed theory-credits from the ATPL exam will then be considered for the next licences IR(A) and CPL(A). The big advantage of the credit-method is that there will not be any further theory exams during the IR(A) and CPL(A) training courses, only the practical skills and technics will be trained and tested.
